Reviews:
- Wine Advocate: A special 3,200-bottle release culled from a selection of Sangiovese from their Pian Bossolino and Poggio al Sole plots, the La Fiorita 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Fiore di No is a very convincing wine that offers much more depth and complexity than the estate’s classic Brunello. The wine opens to dark fruit, spice and camphor ash and then shows a very complete, wide-brush-stroke approach to the grape. You get the dark primary fruit, the depth and the length on the mouthfeel.
- Wine Spectator: The cherry, black-olive and dried-strawberry aromas are so attractive. Hints of cinnamon and licorice. Full-bodied, round and rich with lots of fruit and velvety tannins. Extremely flavorful and rich..
Producer Information
Fattoria La Fiorita is a wine estate in Montalcino, Tuscany specializing in red wines from the Sangiovese grape variety. Founded in the early 1990s, it has been fully owned since 2014 by American former actress Natalie Oliveros, a part-owner since 2011.On taking over Ms Oliveros instigated a shift to organic viticulture, with certification achieved in 2019. A new vineyard, Giardinello, was planted in 2014, and a new winery and cellar was completed in time for the 2019 harvest. The winery itself lies a short distance to the north of Castelnuovo dell’Abate in the southeast corner of Montalcino. There are just 0.4 hectares (1 acre) of vines on this property, planted around the same time as Giardinello. There are three principal vineyards in different parts of the growing zone, offering varied terroirs.
