Bols started making ‘Bols Huile de Cacao’ liqueur in the 19th century using cacao, then a new exotic ingredient. Bols still flavours this liqueur with a hot percolation of cacao beans giving it the taste of dark chocolate compared to that of white chocolate for Bols Crème de Cacao White.

Bols Creme de Cacao (Brown) Liqueur Tasting Notes
Nose: Pungent dark Easter egg chocolate with pronounced orange liqueur notes and faint vanilla.
Palate: Richly flavour of bitter, dark chocolate with orange zest – smoothed by well-judged sugar and faint vanilla.
Finish: Slight spicyness emerges on the long lingering bitter chocolate finish with faint orange.
