Description
Château Daviaud is a refined red Bordeaux from Saint-André du Bois, crafted as a blend of Merlot (45%), Cabernet Franc (21%), Cabernet Sauvignon (19%), and Malbec (15%). Its hillside terroir produces a harmonious wine with aromatic depth, ripe fruit character, and a smooth, structured palate.
Meet the producer
The Sichel Family has been active in Bordeaux winemaking since the 1960s, establishing a network of vineyards and cellars in the region. Château Daviaud became part of their estate in 2020, reinforcing their commitment to producing accessible yet high-quality Bordeaux wines.
Production
Vineyards are planted on south-southwest facing slopes with soils ranging from limestone with shingly gravel at the peaks to clay-limestone mid-slope and fine gravel with silica at the foot. Grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness, sorted, and vinified using traditional techniques. Fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled vats, followed by pressing in pneumatic presses to extract supple tannins. Malolactic fermentation takes place in vats, with the wine aged for six months before bottling.
Tasting notes
Garnet in colour, the wine shows fresh red and black fruit aromas including cherry, blackcurrant, and blueberry. The palate is balanced and aromatic, with a long, elegant finish and a charming, approachable structure.
Food match
Pairs well with roasted meats, poultry, or rich vegetable dishes.
