Description
Compass Box revived the lost art of Whisky blending, marrying to beautiful label design. With Ultramarine, they’ve created a flavor time machine that brings back Scotch recipes of yesteryear (the 70s, 80s, and 90s) in a lush trip through different distilleries. It is, after all, part of the Extinct Blends Quartet series.
Lead Whiskymaker James Saxon was inspired by a deluxe 1980s blended Scotch that boasted sumptuous Sherry influence and pipe tobacco notes when he created Ultramarine. He included hand-picked Whiskies from Caol Ila, Miltonduff, Glen Rod, Speyburn, Cameronbridge, and Glendulan distilleries. Ultramarine is complex, smoky, and a precious collectible Scotch Whisky.
