Crooked Waters Abyss gin is bottled at the semi-mythical and always notorious navy-strength (114 proof), which is thought to be the proof at which gunpowder can still ignite should it get soaked in spirit. They use an undisclosed blend of 14 botanicals.

Crooked Water Abyss 114 Gin Tasting Notes

Nose: Intense nose of juniper, cedar tips and rosemary.

Palate: Flavour of sweet grass, wild cherry bark and bilberries.

Finish: Long, warm finish.

Distillery Information

Yahara Bay Distillery launched in 2007, the craft distilling boom in Wisconsin was still a distant rumble. Less than 10 years later, Dane County’s first distillery (since Prohibition, at least) has outgrown its industrial park digs in south Madison and is ready for a major expansion.
