Description
Feuerheerd’s Anchor Wine Reserva Douro DOC is an elegant, full-bodied red from the Douro region of Portugal, crafted from Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, and Tinto Cão grapes. Aged for 12 months in barrels previously used for Vintage Port, it offers deep aromas of black fruits, refined spice, and a velvety, luxurious palate with a long, lingering finish. With 14% ABV, it is smooth, well-structured, and expressive, reflecting the quality and tradition of the Douro Valley.
Meet the producer
Founded in 1815 by German trader Dietrich Matthias Feuerheerd in Oporto, the brand became famous for its vintage Ports, known in England as ‘Anchor Ports’ due to the distinctive logo. Today, the Van Zeller Wine Collection, in partnership with the Barros family, continues this tradition, with head winemaker Álvaro van Zeller crafting Ports and Douro wines of exceptional quality.
Production
This Douro Reserve red is blended from five traditional Douro varietals and aged in barrels previously used for Vintage Port, allowing the wine to develop a smoother, rounder, and more luxurious texture while retaining complexity and depth.
