Description
Glenkinchie 2009 – 2021 The Distillers Edition
Glenkinchie Distillery
Glenkinchie Distillery is located in the rural area of Pencaitland, about 24 kilometres east of Edinburgh, in the Scottish Lowlands. Founded in 1825 by brothers George and John Rate, Glenkinchie has a long and rich history in whisky production. The distillery is located in a picturesque valley, which adds to its serene and authentic ambience.
A specific feature of Glenkinchie is the use of a traditional production process with two large copper pot stills, including one of the largest wash stills in Scotland. This contributes to the whisky’s light and delicate flavour. Glenkinchie whisky is known for its fresh, floral aromas and subtle notes of lemon, vanilla and spices. Maturation takes place mainly in American oak bourbon casks, which ensures a smooth and balanced taste.
