Formerly known as Alba Reserve, the name was changed toÿBourbon Cask Reserve for transparency and simplicity of trade and consumer understanding. A certified Kosher expression it is matured exclusively in American oak ex-Bourbon casks.
The Glenrothes matures in a combination of Spanish and American oak, usually seasoned with sherry or bourbon.ÿOf those only Bourbon is 100% Kosher. However, the whisky for this expression has matured exclusively in American oak refill bourbon casks, which means no sherry influence at all. Bourbon Cask Reserve is described in John Ramsay?s flavour notes as ?coconut and vanilla, rich and sweet.?
