Founded in 1994 by Chicago native Tony Magee, Lagunitas finally arrived in the Chicago market in July, 2006. One of their limited release artisan series beers, Brown Shugga’ is a unique creation that is now one of Lagunitas’ most popular. Created using 30 pounds of brown sugar per batch, this beer is surprisingly more dry than sweet. Full-bodied with the ester of brown sugar and a warming alcohol content, this imperial brown ale is the perfect winter warmer.
