Description

Teaninich 18 years 2007 – 2025 #302372 Crafted in Cask

Berry Bros. & Rudd, the UK’s oldest independent bottler, is renowned for its craftsmanship and attention to detail. With the Crafted in Cask series they demonstrate how carefully chosen wine and sherry casks can add a unique second layer to single malts. Each release highlights the distillery’s original character while adding depth and complexity through its cask finish.

This 18-year-old Teaninich, distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2025, was given a refined finish in Pineau des Charentes casks. The result is an elegant and fruity whisky, where Teaninich’s fresh and lightly spiced style harmonises beautifully with the sweet, wine-like notes from the cask.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Fresh and fruity with aromas of white grapes, ripe peach and a touch of honey.

Palate

Soft and layered with tropical fruit, gentle spice and a hint of vanilla.

Finish

Long and refined with a delicate balance of fruity sweetness and elegant wine influence.

An intriguing and refined Highland malt where the Pineau des Charentes finish adds a surprising touch of elegance.

Berry Bros & Rudd

Berry Bros. & Rudd is one of the oldest and most respected independent bottlers in the world. The company was founded in 1698 and is headquartered in St James’s Street, London. The family business originally began as a coffee merchant, but soon expanded into the wine and spirits trade. Today, Berry Bros. & Rudd is known for its high-quality whiskies, as well as a wide range of wines and other spirits.

History

Founded in 1698 by the widow Bourne, Berry Bros. & Rudd began as a shop selling coffee, tea and spices. Soon the shop became a meeting place for London’s elite, and the company expanded into selling wine and spirits. Over the years, Berry Bros. & Rudd has built strong ties with the British royal family. The company is a court supplier and has received several royal warrants throughout its long history.

Teaninich Distillery

Teaninich Distillery is located near the village of Alness in the Scottish Highlands, not far from the Cromarty Firth. Founded in 1817 by Captain Hugh Munro, Teaninich is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland and has a long history of whisky production.

A unique feature of Teaninich is the use of a special filtering technique, the mash filter, instead of the traditional mash tun. This contributes to the clarity and purity of the whisky. The distillery uses water from the nearby Alness River.

The whiskies are mainly matured in ex-bourbon casks, which ensures a well-balanced and rich flavour. Teaninich is a major supplier of malt whisky for blended whiskies, but also produces excellent single malts. This combination of tradition, innovation and high-quality production makes Teaninich loved by connoisseurs.
