Description
Templeton 10 Years Reserve Single Barrel #3579
Templeton Rye has long been known as the representative of the classic American rye whiskey style – spicy, powerful and full of character. This 10-year-old Single Barrel, however, is in a class of its own. Sourced from cask #3579 and bottled as Reserve Single Barrel, this bottling perfectly demonstrates what a decade of maturation in American oak can do. A rich, full-bodied whiskey with a delicate balance of sweetness, spice and oak influences – typical rye, but with extra depth.
Tasting Notes
Nose
Intense and inviting with warm notes of vanilla, clove, caramel and toasted oak. Behind the first impressions, we also discover hints of dried fruit, cinnamon and a hint of orange peel.
Taste
Full-bodied and powerful with a creamy texture. Classic rye spices (pepper, nutmeg) are beautifully balanced by sweet notes of toffee, honey and toasted pecans. The barrel influence emerges with toast and a bit of leather.
Finish
Long and warming with lingering spiciness, light tannins and a nice blend of oak, spice cake and a hint of dark chocolate.
