A fresh take on carmenere, this example from 25-year-old vineyards in the San Clemente area of the Maule Valley has a layer of fruity flavors that takes center stage. The tannins are firm and have enough strength to accompany a Bolognese lasagna, and the acidity is refreshing as the wine passes through the mouth.
Importer’s Notes:
This Carmenere is an expression of the terroir. The wine is the result of a selection of the vineyards best plots, planted with 25 year-old vines that yield 6-7 ton/ha. It was aged in oak barrels and stainless steel tanks for 12 months.
