Description
Togouchi Beer Cask Finish
Togouchi Beer Cask Finish is a modern and playful expression from the Sakurao Distillery in Hiroshima, the home of Togouchi whisky. This release unites the refined character of Japanese whisky with the fresh, malty notes of beer. After initial maturation in ex-bourbon casks, it underwent a finish in beer casks from local Japanese craft brewers, adding layers of cereal sweetness, hops and gentle caramel.
As with all Togouchi expressions, maturation takes place in the historic Togouchi railway tunnels, where constant temperature and humidity ensure steady development. The result reflects Sakurao’s innovative spirit — rooted in tradition, yet eager to explore new possibilities.

Bright and inviting with malt, vanilla and honey, followed by light hints of hops, citrus and biscuit dough. Beneath lie soft aromas of caramel, almond and freshly brewed grains.
Palate
Smooth and rounded with flavours of honey, vanilla and malt balanced by gentle hop freshness and citrus brightness. The beer cask adds a subtle bitterness that contrasts beautifully with the whisky’s natural sweetness.

A creative and vibrant Japanese whisky where brewing meets distilling – Togouchi Beer Cask Finish captures the harmony between innovation and craftsmanship in modern Japanese whisky.
