Description
Trastullo Primitivo Organic is a vibrant expression of Primitivo grown organically in the sun-soaked vineyards of Puglia, southern Italy. The vines thrive in well-draining, clay-rich soils with abundant limestone, producing grapes with concentrated flavours and natural intensity while respecting the environment. The organic approach ensures healthy, balanced grapes with purity of fruit and a true sense of terroir.
Winemaking
The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully selected before undergoing fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Maceration lasts 10–15 days to extract colour, aroma, and structured tannins. The wine is aged briefly in stainless steel or neutral oak to maintain freshness and the varietal character, highlighting the ripe red fruit and spice of Primitivo.
Tasting Notes
The wine shows a deep ruby-red colour. The nose is expressive, with aromas of ripe cherries, plums, red berries, and subtle hints of Mediterranean herbs and spices. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and round, with soft, integrated tannins, lively acidity, and a long, juicy finish. The organic production allows the fruit to shine with a fresh, pure, and approachable style.
Food Pairing
Pairs beautifully with tomato-based pasta dishes, grilled meats, roasted vegetables, pizza, and soft cheeses. It is also enjoyable on its own as a vibrant, fruity red.
